Glasses with a lens that filters part of the blue light from screens and lamps before it reaches the eye. How much depends entirely on the lens: clear lenses often take 10–25%, a red evening lens up to 99%.
Blue light in the evening suppresses melatonin, the body’s signal that it is night. An orange or red lens filters out exactly those wavelengths, and in laboratory studies such lenses have dampened light’s effect on melatonin. Put them on two to three hours before bed.
Yellow (95%) or LOWLIGHT ONE for the day on screens, orange (98%) from sunset, red (99%) for the last two hours before sleep.
For the evening they do little, because they usually filter only 10–25% of the blue. To change the light in your evening you need an orange or red lens.
The yellow lens and LOWLIGHT ONE are fine in daylight. Never drive in the dark with tinted lenses.
We state the filtration per lens and with its wavelength band, instead of a claimed 100%. The frames are designed in Gothenburg, and you get a 30-night trial.
